Theoretically:

  • Decolonial literary and cultural studies (especially from a Latin American perspective)
  • Aesthetic theory and the history of aesthetics (conceptualism, poetology, philology, deconstruction)
  • Critical theory and approaches critical of power (critique, intersectionality, perspectivism)
  • Genre and media theory (novel theory, narratology, image-text relationships, oralität)

Thematic:

  • Latin American literatures and cultures of the present and the colonial period
  • Spanish and French-language literatures of the modern era (Cervantes, Gracián, Descartes, Montaigne, Valéry)
  • Theories of modernity and colonial modernity

  • The irrepressible desire of poetry: A power-critical reading of Petrarch's Secretum (Habilitation) 
  • Perception, jurisdiction, and valorization in Colonial Modernity: On the nexus of accumulation, Race, and aesthetics (research project, funded by the VW Foundation Project, together with Prof. Dr. Katja Diefenbach (Viadrina) and Prof. Dr. Ruth Sonderegger (Academy of Arts Vienna). Completed research projects

Member of the DFG Research Unit Politics of the Idyll, completed, with a publication and a conference on „Politics of the Idyll“ (together with Michalina Golinczak), in Frankfurt/Oder, September 29-30, 2022, funded by the DFG and the Viadrina Centre for Graduate Studies (VCGS). The conference program can be found here. 

Post-doc project, funded by the DFG-Kolleg „lebensformen + lebenswissen“, completed with two publications on Starobinski.
