As a Latin Americanist and Romance scholar, my teaching and research focuses on Spanish and French-language literatures and cultures of the early modern period and the 20th century. I am guided by a power-critical and intersectional perspective on literary, philosophical and theoretical texts and the way in which these texts generate meanings in colonial modernity, how they circulate, are authorized and made available, but also how they are questioned, multiplied and transformed. I understand meanings not only as pure textual work, but as a practice in which cultural, material and historical aspects interact. The focus of my current research is the Latin American perspective on the possibilities and potentials of a decolonial philology: más allá de la ciudad letrada.
