16th International Cognitive Linguistics Conference (ICLC) in Düsseldorf

The German-Polish research project Multimodal Stancetaking: Expressive Movement and Affective Stance was invited to present results on linguistic-gestural forms of affective positioning in the context of cognitive linguistic research.

At the International Conference on Cognitive Linguistics, the team from the University of Leuven (Prof. Geert Brône, Fien Andries, Clarissa De Vries, Prof. Kurt Feyaerts, Katharina Meissl, Prof. Bert Oben, Prof. Paul Sambre, and Prof. Myriam Vermeerbergen) organised a section on 'Multimodal stance-taking in gesture and sign'. Our German-Polish project presented their research results for discussion.

Aside from Cornelia Müller and Clara Kindler-Mathôt, Teresa Weigand and Jana Katharina Junge also participated in the conference. For both of them, this was their first experience of the international research world and an opportunity to network internationally.
