Jonas Rietschel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with a focus on sociology, ethnology and political science from the Georg-August-University of Göttingen. He also completed his Master of Arts in Sociology with a focus on Political Sociology in Göttingen.
Jonas Rietschel has been working as an academic staff member at the European University Viadrina since November 2020. His doctoral project combines welfare state research and sociological European studies. In this context, he is researching processes of Europeanization and European integration in the field of European labour market policy and social policy. One of his main areas of research is social security in transnational labor markets.
