Sascha Münnich discusses anti-Semitism at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen.

"Nowhere no anti-Semites" was the title of a discussion evening on 27 February 2024 at the Deutsches Theater in Göttingen, at which Prof. Dr Sascha Münnich was on stage with the Jewish writer Alexander Estis.

A ban on thought instead of a ban on speech, as Sascha Münnich demanded in an thankful article in the Göttinger Tageblatt for the discussion evening with the Jewish writer Alexander Estis. Against the backdrop of Hamas' terrorist attacks on Israel on 7 October 2023 and Israel's subsequent war against Hamas in Gaza, the discourse on anti-Semitism in Germany is also characterised by indignation; scientifically sound analyses often fall by the wayside, according to Münnich's assessment. This is precisely where he saw his role at the discussion evening: „The strength of social sciences lies in the categorisation, differentiation and observation of current social debates, with a particular focus on criticising or even destroying the regularly observed 'myths' about the dimensions and causes of a social phenomenon.“ (extract from the Viadrina logbook)
